7 Ways to Book More Jobs On Your Moving Company Website

Article written by

Your website is your #1 sales and marketing tool

If you run a moving company, a great website isn’t just a ‘nice to have’. Your website has one job and that is to make it extremely easy for potential customers to find out if you can help them and how much it will cost them.

When a customer searches for a mover in their area, they will judge your company (alongside those of your competitors) based on their first impression of your website. In 2025, more and more people are using AI search to find what they’re looking for, but the basic fundamentals of a good website still stand. You can learn more about optimizing your website for AI search in this article.

1. Make sure it looks good on mobile

Many small businesses pour a lot of valuable time and money into making their website look great, but forget to ensure that it also works well on mobile. Today, this can kill your chances of booking more jobs. With over half of all website traffic coming from mobile, it’s essential that your moving company website works well on all devices.

According to recent UX research, nearly 9 in 10 users won’t return to a website after a bad experience, and mobile users are 5 times more likely to abandon a task if a site isn’t mobile-optimized.

Before you launch, make sure it’s responsive. That means testing it on your phone and tablet, and asking your crew and people you know to test it too. Test it on as many different devices as you can. Test all the buttons and links and make sure the user journey throughout the entire experience is smooth and easy to do from desktop and mobile.

2. Make it easy for customers to contact you

People come to your website to find out how much it will cost them to book your services, so make it really easy for them to do that. If your website is hard to navigate or they can’t find an easy way to get a quote, they’ll go to one of your competitors instead.

These details should be front and center:

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Quote calculator

  • CTA button - Get a free quote

Make it easy for them to take the next step. The fewer clicks it takes to contact you, the more jobs you’ll book.

3. Give customers a reason to trust you

Moving is stressful and customers are trusting you to look after all of the stuff they care about. Make it easy for them to trust you by showing them who you are and why you care.

  • Show real photos of your crew in action.

  • Add testimonials from happy customers.

  • Drop in Google review badges if you’ve got them.

  • Tell them who you are and why you care

4. Answer the questions that customers ask

Customers have likely looked at multiple websites before they settle on the company that feels like the right fit. Think about all the questions that customers have asked you previously and add these as easy-to-find FAQs on your website.

Make it easy for them to want to go ahead and book with you by answering the questions that they are likely to ask.

  • “How early should I book movers?”

  • “Do you pack boxes or just move them?”

  • “Are you insured?”

  • “How much does it cost to move a 2-bedroom?”

  • What happens if I have to cancel?

Answering these questions upfront will save time for you and your customers. It also has the added bonus of helping you appear in Google Search and AI Search. AI models love Q&A format so try to include as many helpful questions as you can. Add your FAQs with schema markup so you can show up in voice search and AI results. Think along the lines of “Hey Siri, find movers who pack boxes near me.”

5. Use a form that’s easy to complete

Your lead form should be easy and quick to complete, and obvious to find. Ask for the minimum information that you need to move forward:

  • Name

  • Email

  • Phone

  • Comments / questions

If you’ve got more questions, use a multi-step form (it converts better than one long one). And make sure you’ve set up an auto-reply email so customers know you got their request right away and that they’ll be hearing from you soon.

Something like this works well:

6. Check out other websites

A beautiful site is nice to have, but only if it actually helps you get more jobs. Whether you’re planning to tackle building your own website with a website builder like Wix or Squarespace, or hire a professional website builder to do it for you, it’s important to know what you want to build.

Check out other websites in a variety of industries. Fill out contact forms and experience different types of customer journeys.

What did you like and what did you hate?

Take inspiration from others so you can build an effective website. If you’re going the route of hiring an agency, make sure they actually know the moving industry. You need lead forms that work for your target audience and SEO that actually helps you rank. An optimized website can be the difference between an empty week and a schedule that’s totally booked out.

7. Keep testing and improving

You’ve spent time building your website and it’s live for the world to see. That’s great! But that doesn’t have to be the end. Keep testing messaging, images and content. Add all the new glowing reviews that you get and update the photos of your crew in action. Even better, include videos of your crew on a move. Customers love to see the real people behind the company (especially today when everything is starting to be run by AI).

Your website is your first impression and your main tool for winning new customers. In 2025, most moves start with a search (and increasingly, AI search). The movers that make it easy for customers to book with them will keep growing. As AI advances and changes how companies market, make sure you keep improving your site and you’ll keep the jobs flying in.
